How to Read Candlestick Charts
While the price behavior of a given stock ultimately depends on the fundamental factors, technical analysis and candlestick charts in particular are much better for understanding the psychology of the market, and for generating the signals for entering and exiting the trades.
Below is the video explaining how to read candlestick charts – it was the first video I ever made on this subject. The video is showing the signs of aging, but it is still very useful for understanding the candlesticks.
It is worth noting that the candlestick patterns have universal values: you can apply them to rising markets, falling markets or markets trading sideways, for both going long (buying the stock to profit from its appreciation), and going short (short-selling the stock to profit from its depreciation).
